Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe about Menstrual attitude and Symptoms.
The research instrument used for the study were as fallows.
Menstrual Attitude scale was developed by Brooks and Menstrual distress Scale by Moos.
Data was analyzed by computer using statistical package for the social science program
The results of the study were as follows.
1. The average age at menarche ; 14.3years old.
2. The duration of Menses : 4.9 days.
3. The menstrual cycle regular.
4. The bellow mean data suggest that college women perceived menstruation attitude ;
Menstruation as a natural event(Mean 3,24), Anticipation and prediction of the onset of menstruation (Mean 2.33), Menstruation as a debilitating event(Mean 2.26), Denial of any effect of menstruation (Mean 2.21), Menstruation as a bothersome event. (Mean 2.10)
5. On the other hand the women¢¥s response on menstrual Symptoms was indicated as following mean data ;
Control(Mean 3.46), Arousal(Mean 3.42), Water retention (Mean 3.31), Concentration(Mean 3.29), Autonomic reaction(Mean 3.24), Negative affect(Mean 3.05), Behavioral change(Mean 2.91), Pain(Mean 2.80).
6. There was no significant difference about menstrual Attitude among school grades but bothersome (P<.05)
7. No difference in menstrual symptoms was observed among school grades.
8. Difference in menstrual attitude and symptoms was found out among evening school students whether they had their job or not.
9. There was correlation between menstrual attitude and symptoms(r=.6140 P=.000)
